The Ombudsman participates in the ENNHRI General Assembly

On Thursday, 31 March, the Ombudsman Mr. Juris Jansons participated in the General Assembly of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) where he expressed his support to Ukraine and the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Ms Lyudmyla Denisova regarding the Russian Federation’s armed attack on Ukraine. The Ombudsman condemns Russia’s armed attack and cannot believe the statement of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation about almost 500 000 Ukrainian refugees deliberately fleeing to the territory of Russia.

The Ombudsman has previously supported ENNHRI statement on the protection of human rights in the armed attack on Ukraine.
