International cooperation
The Ombudsman’s Office of the Republic of Latvia has received the highest “A” status accreditation by the International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions Sub-Committee on Accreditation.
The Ombudsman’s Office regularly cooperates with the United Nations, as well as with other international institutions such as the Council of Europe, the European Ombudsman and many others.

The Ombudsman’s Office was previously also a member and board member of the European Omudsman Institute (EOI), but due to Russia’s war in Ukraine and the organization’s ambiguous position on this matter, the Ombudsman resigned from the organization on 16 September 2022 with an official letter.
