Materials from the Annual Workshop for Baltic countries Ombudspersons for Children

This was the second year when Annual workshop for Baltic countries Ombudsman’s on Children Rights was organized. This workshop took place in Riga, from 21 to 22 March 2013. Previous year hosting country of the workshop was Estonia.

Workshop brought together representatives from the Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. First of all each state’s institution presented their news on the previous year. After this part participants went to study visit to social correction educational institution “Naukšēni”. On the second day in workshop was an opportunity to debate on several professional themes adopted for the workshop. For example about access rights and work with families who are deprived of parental rights. After the main themes were round table discussions about express problems, like UN and baby boxes and visitation programms to Unites States of America. This year discussions was made with six-hat thinking method, which was very interesting experience.
