Ombudsman has sent letter to the UN with information on political and civil rights in Latvia
In November 28, 2013 Ombudsman’s Office of the Republic of Latvia received letter from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia with request of information regarding the annual statements in the field of civil and political rights for the period from 2009 to 2013 for provision of further information to the UN Commission for Human Rights.
For objective information Ombudsman’s Office of the Republic of Latvia prepared an extract of the annual statements in the field of civil and political rights for the period from 2009 to 2012. Since the report on the year 2013 has not been compiled yet, review of achievements made in 2013 in the context of civil and political topics is found in the letter.
This letter and its attachements is sent also to United Nations Human Rights Committee and Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
